CRI AWARDS FOURTH CONSECUTIVE $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO WEST SUBURBAN STUDENT

Antony Greenhow, a senior at Proviso East High School (PEHS) and Maywood resident, plans to pursue a psychology degree at Southern Illinois University. Common Roots Initiative (CRI) awarded Greenhow its $1,000 Spring 2013 Student Scholarship to help him achieve that goal. This is the fourth consecutive $1,000 scholarship CRI has provided since the charity began giving financial assistance to students and educators in 2012.

CRI AWARDS SECOND TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP OF 2012

Common Roots Initiative has awarded its second $1,000 teacher scholarship to Edward Beidas, an Aviation and AP Physics educator at Proviso East High School (Maywood, IL). He plans to use the scholarship to fund field trips for aviation students. CRI is proud to have awarded a total of $3,000 during its first year of giving, as it aims to support west suburban Chicago students and teachers in pursuing academic goals. In this case, it’s exciting to help fund a unique learning opportunity that could be a life-changing experience for students.

CRI HOSTS CEREMONY FOR ITS FIRST SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Common Roots Initiative (CRI) hosted a scholarship ceremony on June 7, 2012 at Villa Nova Banquets (Villa Park, IL) for its first scholarship recipients -- Glenn Lid, a conceptual, honors, and AP chemistry teacher, and Konstantin Kuksenko, a graduating senior. Both awardees were from Proviso East High School and each received $1,000 in scholarship monies.

CRI AWARDS TWO $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS

Common Roots Initiative has awarded its first set of $1,000 scholarships to a teacher and student from Proviso East High School. The recipient of the CRI 2012 Teacher Scholarship is Glenn Lid, a conceptual, honors, and AP chemistry teacher who will use the monies toward technological improvements for his classes. The recipient of the CRI 2012 Student Scholarship is Konstantin Kuksenko, a graduating senior who plans to earn a biblical theology degree from Wheaton College.
